These vast landscapes convey a feeling of being grounded and allow one to feel part of a rapidly changing moment. This imagery prompts the viewer to think about their own life and story, and where they fit into it.

SONUS NATURA, new work by Jeff Klarin, means nature sounds. The theme is carried through all the pieces either as represented by animals and technology, text as ‘soundings’ envelop in landscape environments, etc.
The pieces in the show involve birds, vintage technologies, glaciers, horizon lines, text, tornados, ocean.  The show is called Sonus Natura because my interest is in the ways humans and nature ‘communicate’.  The ‘soundings’ we hear from glaciers collapsing, oceans crashing, tornados spinning is analogous to how humans use technologies to ‘sound’.
