Three women-owned businesses that inspire us

Let me know what businesses or podcasts inspire you

Secession Art & Design exists because we took a chance. We’re just of one of many small women-owned businesses in San Francisco. Our strength comes from knowing that we’re not alone – we all work every day and support each other. I think these three woman-owned businesses deserve shoutouts.

Isso Boutique has been around for more than ten years. They make clothing in the studio connected to their store. They recently made a collection of little girl’s skirts (2-6 years) in vintage fabric for Secession. Their boutique is filled with local products, vintage clothing, accessories and jewelry. They’re my go-to when I want a little shopping therapy.

Fix Studios is always there to make me shine with a facial and the most amazing skincare products. When I need a retreat from my gallery and Mission Street, I head their way. All their products are made in San Francisco – something to be proud about!

My morning ritual is to have a warm cup of coffee and listen to a podcast.  One of my favorite podcasters is Lorraine Sanders, who works her magic getting to the core of women in businesses with The Spirit of 608. There are 88 episodes to binge on. Lorraine used to live, as she liked to say,  “a stone’s throw from the gallery”.  I find the exposure to a world of women who have a lot to share totally inspiring.

Thank you for shopping local and being our continued support! Are there local businesses or podcasts that inspire you? I’d love to hear about them.
