Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Art Opening this Friday, Feb 2, 6-9pm

Eric Rewitzer, Annie Galvin, & Silvi Alcivar

Secession Art & Design is honored to celebrate 2018 with our new show, Sincerity + Sky, featuring art by Annie GalvinEric Rewitzer (3 Fish Studios), and Silvi Alcivar (The Poetry Store). We invite you to our gallery on Mission Street to see this beautiful collaboration between print, type, and the power of words. As we navigate through a new political year, art is going to speak to us and allow us to be loud, meditative, powerful, quiet, or anything our hearts and souls need to be resilient. Please join us on Friday, February 2, 6-9pm for an opening to meet the artists.

Our friends from Old Bus Tavern will toast the opening with a taste of their Lemon Basil Saison brewed literally steps from the gallery at their brewery. Blue Plate, across the street, will tempt you with deviled eggs for your savory bite. Conversation heart cookies by XO Bakes will start a delicious conversation.

Show your community love by showing up. Your support means everything to us!
XO Eden
