Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Secession Art & Design is hosting Artspan Open Studios this weekend. This is a rare chance for you to meet our artists in person. This show, Surroundings, features art by Shannon Amidon, Mary Burger, Leah Jachimowicz, Nolan Jones and Heather Robinson. Come Friday evening for our preview party and pick up your guides and maps for the weekend.

One of my favorite parts about owning Secession is getting to visit each artist's studio and see their process and tools. I love the creative organization of paint, paper, stencils, and other mediums. The art is beautifully hung in our gallery now, but knowing the story and thought behind each piece is pure inspiration.

Stop by this weekend for our extended hours, meet the artists, and take a painting home. You will have instant gratification supporting a local artist and decorating your home.
