Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Artist Talk & local honey tasting Wednesday March 14, 6-8pm

Secession Art & Design is excited to host an artist talk, featuring San Francisco artists Annie Galvin and Eric Rewitzer of 3 Fish Studios, and Silvi Alcivar of The Poetry Store. Learn about the process and magic that happens when people collaborate. There is always a story behind a show. One of my favorite moments between these three artists is when Annie and Eric were vacationing in Ireland. Silvi was also adventuring to Ireland, and they all happened to be on the same airplane. What are the chances? This show speaks to us all being connected and what can happen when we let in spontaneity into our lives. Please join us on Wednesday, March 14, 6-8pm.

Local apiculturist Scott Mattoon will share the forage of his bees, who pollinate in the city from his backyard and the rooftops of Flour+Water and Central Kitchen restaurants. Come sample 2017 harvests from the Glen Canyon and Mission-Potrero beehives.

See you on Wednesday!
XO Eden
