Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Open Studios Weekend at Secession

Preview Party: Friday, October 25, 6-9pm

Open Studios: Saturday & Sunday, October 26-27, 11am-7pm

Secession Art & Design is excited to participate in Artspan's Open Studios. This event spans four magical weekends - you can experience art in every nook of San Francisco. This is the third weekend, and time to celebrate Secession and Mission Bernal. I like that we are off the beaten path, an art oasis on Mission Street nestled between a barbershop and a music venue.

My approach to curating this show was very playful and eclectic. I chose six artists expressing their visual voice - Carol Pesce-Imlay, Kate McKinley, Heather Robinson, Jamai Lowell, Jeff Klarin, and Steve Javiel. Stop by this weekend to see in person our fall art show, Modulation.
