Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

We're on a billboard!

Open Thursday - Sunday, 12-7pm

Secession Art & Design is on a billboard right now, along with Thrillhouse Records and The Magic Patio. I think back to 2016 when I helped found the billboard project for the Mission Bernal Merchant Association. I told my friends who live above the Bank of America parking lot that someday I would find a way to beautify this wall. With a generous grant from the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, a mural by Amandalynn (sponsored by Beautify Earth and Zappos), and dedicated merchants and neighbors, we made this possible.

Seeing myself on the billboard with baby Luca reminds me how far I have come as a community leader, business owner, and now mama. When you are walking down Mission Street between 29th St and Valencia, take a look at this work of art and then head to Secession shop our collection from over 70 artists and designers. See you this weekend, 12-7pm.

XO Eden
