Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Artists donate art to save our gallery!

100% goes to Secession

Secession Art & Design has been closed for over two weeks now as we do our part to help slow down the spread of COVID-19 by social distancing. I have been spending time rethinking my business plan, which relied on 80% of sales from people shopping in the store. I am moved by how many customers, artists, designers, and small business owners have donated to my fundraiser. With each nice note, online sale, or donation, I am constantly reminded that Secession is worth fighting for.

To close the store because of this pandemic would break my heart. So help us by purchasing a piece of art online. These artists are generously offering up their commission in support of saving their gallery!
