Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

break open art show ends this weekend

See it in person on Saturday, 12-5pm

Secession Art & Design's show, break open, features Silvi Alcivar, Dianne Hoffman, and J. L. King, three Bay Area women artists who communicate the unsaid through their art. This curation reflects emotion, strength, beauty, and the hunger to create and to feel human connection. Silvi created 100 small pieces (less than 40 are still available), each with a poem carefully placed inside a bottle, perfect for those in your life who want some magic and healing. Diane was inspired by playful jewel tones that inform her storytelling, using found objects to create colorful windows into her imagination. J. L. King's surreal oil paintings set the stage for wonder and curiosity.

See you soon,
