Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Art, Hapa-Hawaii food & pinball!

Art, Hapa-Hawaii food & pinball!

Today is Small Business Saturday - a day that happens every year just after Thanksgiving to remind people to eat, drink, and shop locally. You can show your support for Secession Art & Design & our 20+ artists  by buying art from the comfort of your home on our virtual gallery. All art is available immediately online before our SF Gift Art Pop-Up in December.

You can choose free delivery for art over $500 or pick it up at the pop-up to avoid shipping. We look forward to seeing you in person soon!

Secession was in SF for fifteen years. I treasured my merchant and neighbor community. One of my favorite restaurants on my old block in Mission Bernal was Outer Orbit. The owners, Elisabeth and Christian, are awesome generous people who make really good Hapa-Hawaii food. My favorites are the vegan house-made spam Outer Bánh Mi and Furikake Fries. This is also my go-to place to play pinball. If you find yourself in Bernal this weekend, experience the magic for yourself!

With Gratitude, Eden
