Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Secession's virtual gallery just got more sparkly, as we added five of Phillip Hua's pieces to the site for summer art collecting. Phillip's unique style of photomontage juxtaposes nature against stock indexes from financial newspapers. As the late-day sun hits, these gold beauties begin to glow. The colorful natural scenes take flight, becoming hyper-real. Imagine walking into your home and seeing this large-scale art on the wall and feeling its amazing energy.

Save the date for our 16th anniversary, August 24-27th, with an SF Art pop-up in Bernal Heights. Sixteen artists have been painting a collection inspired by texture and color. I will use my curating eye to transform 307 Cortland from an empty storefront into a gorgeous, airy gallery.
