Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Last day of the Art Pop-up!

We're open Sunday 12-6pm at 307 Cortland

Happy Sunday! After brunch, walk up to Bernal Hill and stop by 307 Cortland to see the last day of our 16th Anniversary show by 18 artists!

I am so honored to provide space so these artists can get experimental and be seen. Each piece has a story to tell. Which one will speak to you?

Happy Collecting, Eden

"Why buy art from Eden at Secession? When you buy a piece of art from Eden, you are not just buying the art piece. What you are also purchasing along with the art is Eden’s keen eye, sense of style, and adamant support of local and truly amazing artists. It is what makes buying art from her so easy because all the work has already been done for you. What she sets before you is the product of years of work in cultivating artist relationships, with a sharp eye toward upcoming talent. The pieces that we have purchased from her over the years, yes, years, have given us and visitors to our home immense joy. These pieces enrich us visually on a daily basis, giving us a sense of enjoyment and calm through their color and light. And for us, that is something truly wonderful about buying art from Eden, it is the gift that just keeps on giving.” -Alisha & Sharon A
