Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Eden 10k in 10 Days Fundraiser

Hi friends, I am doing a fundraiser to raise some much-needed working capital for Secession Art & Design and my family. You can show your support through donations, purchasing art, or hiring me to do home curation (rearranging your art collection with a fresh eye can transform your home in unexpected ways).

I am proud of my gallery for surviving the pandemic and pivoting to a virtual space and occasional art pop-up. I have done a lot with little, but I’m feeling the economic pressures when I still have loans from the COVID years of operating a brick-and-mortar, and the loss of revenue when I closed my doors in 2022. Every month feels like the heaviness of climbing a mountain, trying to make enough to cover immediate expenses.

When you donate to this 10k in 10 days fundraiser, it's so much more than just buying art. You are supporting a community of artists and a family that is trying to make sure that the rent is paid, food is on the table and childcare expenses are met so my son can live his best life.

Thank you so much for donating to my challenge and letting this curator mama focus on creating shows and working with artists instead of what keeps me up at night...money.

P.S. Save the date for our SF Spring Art Pop-Up on the horizon. I look forward to a chance to open a gallery for four days and see you all in person.
