Hilary Williams: An Abundance of Spring in View
Hilary Williams: An Abundance of Spring in View
Since Hilary Williams’ first introduction to screen printing she has been enthralled by its graphic quality, bold colors, and the way it lends itself to layers. Hilary uses collages of photography, drawing, painting, and patterning to create layers of images with meaning. Her works deal with a variety of emotions about the coexistence of our urban landscape, nature and humanity. In creating her limited edition screen prints she uses a variety of stencil creating techniques for each of the ten to twenty layers of printing creating each print. She uses photographs that are her own as well as hand painted and drawn stencils. Each of these stencils in then transferred on to a mesh screen and printed on the page to comprise one of the many color layers. Each of her prints is created on quality acid free printmaking paper with acrylic printing inks and signed and numbered by the artist.
21" x 27" screenprint on paper (unframed). Limited edition.
