Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Live painting by Rob Sakovich & lowrider cruise

Saturday, April 8, 5-8pm

Secession Art & Design is home to many artists that love to paint Mission Street. On Saturday from 5 to 8pm, Rob Sakovich will do a live painting featuring his unique ability to paint on spray cans. While in the neighborhood, rain or shine, the San Francisco Lowrider Council will cruise from Cortland to 24th for the Tribute to Selena Cruise. I’m looking forward to the moment that they ride through Mission Bernal during happy hour. They have permission to go straight through Cesar Chavez and not be forced right. One of my favorite neighborhood moments is watching this cruise. Everyone takes to the streets and cheers them on. I love this tradition.

We have a few 3300 Club T-shirts left in sizes small, XL, XXL for all the special requests that we’e had. Respond to this email if you want one ($30, all proceeds going to 3300 Club). Owner Theresa Keane will be at Secession during this event if you want to say hello.

XO Eden
