Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Foraged Art book release - Join us Friday, June 29, 6-8pm

Secession Art & Design is excited to host an interactive book signing for the release of Foraged Art. For the past year, we have been following the journey of our Mission Bernal neighbor, Leslie Jonath, as she went through the process of publishing this eye-catching and educational book on ephemeral art. This book includes 35 projects beautifully photographed, with lessons on how to work with natural color, texture, and pattern to inspire you to discover and create outside using what is around you. Please join us on Friday, June 29th 6-8pm to meet authors Peter Cole and Leslie Jonath and photographer Rory Earnshaw. Participate in creating a mandala, and purchase your own copy.
