Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Popup and Fashion Show at Secession

Friday, October 11, 6-8pm

Secession Art & Design is hosting an independent designer popup and youth fashion show for KFLY & Lemon Twist. Stop by this Friday 6pm to meet the designers, shop their collections, and ask them about what it is like to produce clothing in small batches locally in San Francisco and Seattle. We're also really excited to be hosting a fashion show for Lemon Twist's designer youth program.

Katy from KFLY will also be at Secession 12-7pm on Saturday, October 12 with her brand-new line of dresses.

KFLY was created by Katy, who has been designing and making clothing for herself and other fabulous femmes of all shapes and sizes for over 10 years. KFLY is exclusively designed and made in Seattle. She has a talent for choosing beautiful unexpected fabrics that hug each curve in the perfect way and move elegantly with you.

LEMON TWIST is the brainchild of founders Eric and Danette Scheib. They have been designing and making women's clothing in San Francisco for 18 years. They currently have a storefront in the Mission where you can watch them make the clothes and purchase right from the sewing table. 9 years ago they launched their fashion workshop to the future generation of designers aged 11-18. Young makers learn how to cut and sew a project that they dream up.
