Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Moving my home and business in 2022!

We're open Wednesday-Sunday 12-6pm

Secession Art & Design has been open on Mission Street since 2007. I moved to San Francisco in 1999. I feel so lucky to have spent the last two decades experiencing and growing with SF. In the new year, my husband, my son and I will move from our city apartment to a country home on the border of Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Our sweet new home is next to a farm. This means baby goats in the spring, food from the garden, and exploring with my curious toddler. My eyes and heart get dreamy just thinking about this life change.

My goal for Secession is to relocate it to Sebastopol as soon as I find the right storefront. This is not goodbye but growth for the gallery. You will still be able to find us online while we transition and relocate. We will close the San Francisco location in mid-March to get ready for the big store move.

Let's talk holiday! Our gallery & boutique is already stocked for early shopping and gifting. Our community of 70+ designers has created an incredible collection for everyone on your list. I look forward to seeing our loyal customers this season and helping you with your gifts. Your support has always warmed my heart!

See you soon, Eden
