Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Art, walnut trees and working from home

Secession Art & Design is growing our art collection for our holiday gift art pop-up, happening November 17-20 in San Francisco. Our inspiration this week is the view outside my country home window. In the mornings, I drop off Luca at preschool, get a cup of coffee, and head home to my office (aka my turquoise couch) with a view of our walnut tree.

Working remotely has been meditative and restorative. I catch myself watching the crows and squirrels eating our walnuts in abundance. Our roses had one last bloom, and the vibrant orangey pink is beautiful against foggy, misty mornings. These quiet moments are when I have some of my best business ideas. Creating a space filled with nature-inspired art is a good reminder of this dreamy state while you work from home.

With gratitude, Eden

PS: All art is available for immediate purchase to reserve before the event. If you are local choose in-store pickup at the popup November 17-20.

And if you would like to donate to our popup fundraiser, you would make our day!
