Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Closing Party Tonight! Friday, March 11, 6-8pm

We're open Saturday & Sunday 12-6pm

Secession Art & Design is closing our SF location this Sunday. Tonight we are celebrating our community of 70+ artists & designers and our lovely customers. Because of you, we have been successful and thriving. The decision to close the storefront did not come lightly. This time the ball is in my court. I am not being forced out or evicted. I am making a choice for the sake of my family and home.

When I moved the store eight years ago, I took a major leap and renovated a restaurant into the storefront that you see today. Yes, it's hard to walk away from my dream gallery, but I'm proud of everything that I built, the heart and soul that went into building community and curating our collection. I am feeling optimistic for the future. I trust that whatever is next will make itself known. For now, let's stay in the moment.

Please join us tonight as Silvi reads I am remembering everything, and shop our selection of art, clothing, and jewelry. Thank you to our family, friends, artists, designers, customers, and neighbors for believing in this journey! I am visualizing a new gallery.

See you soon,
Eden
