Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

New home curation services & our 15th anniversary!

Secession Art & Design has been on hiatus since we closed our San Francisco location in March. Moving my home and business required a lot of mental energy. Resting my heart and brain felt important.

Setting up our home in the beautiful countryside of Santa Rosa was the best decision I ever made. The roses are in bloom, songbirds fill my mornings with peacefulness, and the sound of quiet is like nothing else. Family time is abundant and enjoying fresh farm food from Hilary's garden next door is always a delight. My son's favorite game in the backyard is hugging monsters. The goal is to run around the grapevines and give hugs.

When I'm not playing or exploring, I've found time to work on Secession. I am spending the summer getting ready for our 15th anniversary. I rented 307 Cortland in Bernal Heights August 4-7 and invited fifteen artists to create art to celebrate this milestone. I am so excited to be back in San Francisco for this pop-up and can't wait to see all of you! Other projects have included working on my website. You can now hire me for home curation projects and sourcing your dream art collection. I am feeling very thankful for taking a risk and watching the rewards unfold - feeling the stability of our new home and life. Thank you for going on this adventure with me!
