307 Cortland Gallery is Open Saturday & Sunday!
Plus a Broke-Ass Stuart article & Storied: SF podcast
Secession Art & Design's 15th Anniversary show is hung beautifully at 307 Cortland. I hope you will stop by this weekend to see the gallery in person and say hello! Fifteen artists passionately created art inspired by our love for SF.
All art is available online. If you would like to pick up on Sunday, choose the pickup option at checkout. The gallery is open Saturday 12-8pm, and Sunday 12-6pm.
I was recently interviewed by Broke-Ass Stuart and Storied: SF and wanted to share the results with you.
"What’s the secret to curating the perfect art show?" asks Broke-Ass Stuart:
"The secret sauce is leaving room for spontaneity and cross-collaboration. A majority of my shows feature two or three artists. I like to pair up artists that can push each other artistically. I look for common threads, and themes, or just go the polar opposite with a juxtaposition. My goal with each show is to not only encourage my artists to experiment but to push myself to explore new ideas and combinations. People always asked me what art I create. My answer is always 'curation is my art.' "

I knew as soon as I decided to plan Secession Art and Design's 15th Anniversary Pop-up that I wanted to tell my story. I was so excited to be interviewed by Jeff Hunt from Storied: San Francisco. He drove from San Francisco to Santa Rosa, drawn by the temptation of seeing a baby goat and picking up some amazing beer from the Russian River Brewing Company. We sat in my backyard under a blue sky, getting some sun and watching the hawks fly above us. My story came out easily with his questions. Thank you for listening to this podcast!
