Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

15th Anniversary Party Tonight 307 Cortland, 6-8pm

Secession Art & Design's anniversary party is tonight. I hope that you will stop by to meet our talented artists, shop, and celebrate with us! As you walk through the doors of our pop-up, you will get to experience art made with love and passion. Fifteen artists created an incredible body of work for this collection. I look forward to seeing our artists, customers, donors, friends, and family!

The gallery is open Friday 12-8pm, Saturday 12-8pm, and Sunday 12-6pm.

Thank you to the talented Dorothy O'Donnell for writing about us for Hoodline! She captured this quote about the show beautifully.

“I wanted to surround myself with artists who not only create gorgeous work but who give me strength and represent what we’ve built over the last 15 years,” says Stein, who asked participating artists to create pieces inspired by their love of San Francisco. “This is about so much more than art. I think our customers will feel that energy and want it in their homes. There’s something so magical when people can come into a gallery to shop or say hello and see beautiful art live in that moment.”

You rock, Eden
