Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Pumpkin patches with artful views

My son Luca is three now, and he loves pumpkin patches and everything Halloween. On a recent adventure, we ended up at a farm near our home that's a preschooler's dream come true. A giant corn pit that went up to his knees, hayrides through the fields to pick your pumpkin, a petting zoo, and lots of bouncy structures. As I watched my little one jump up into the air, I was moved by the picturesque views of the vineyards. So much beauty just ten minutes from home.

Art is everywhere as the seasons change in Sonoma County. Many of our artists at Secession Art & Design create from their favorite views. You can feel the energy and pure joy of gorgeous sunsets, or the rolling landscape of wineries on 101 as you drive south towards SF. As you decorate your homes with spooky decorations, remember to adorn your walls with art that reminds you of these special moments when nature is everything.
