Secession Art & Design Blog

Secession Art & Design opened our Bernal Heights location in August of 2007, and has since grown to represent over 50 independent artists and designers. Our retail location is a gallery, boutique, and workspace combined, creating an untraditional storefront that allows customers to experience curated shows by owner, Eden Stein, and see the process of art being made in-house by Heather Robinson.

Gift Art Whisky Eve Party Tonight Nov 18 6-8pm

Gallery Hours Nov 18 11-8, Nov 19 11-7, & Nov 20 11-6

I hope you can join us tonight at 307 Cortland for a celebration with our artists, makers, and community. As many of you know, one of our favorite traditions at Secession was to have a bottle of Jameson open on Christmas Eve and have a shot with our customers while helping them with last-minute shopping. Many of our clients participated in this party for over a decade.

Closing the store was probably the hardest thing I have ever done. It's reassuring to know that I can continue my traditions and that my legacy on Mission Street is not forgotten. Life just looks different: I had an awesome kid, moved to Santa Rosa, transitioned my brick-and-mortar to a virtual space, and every so often we can come together for these pop-ups. It would mean the world to me if you were to stop by tonight, shop, and let us pour you a shot for old times' sake to warm yourself up.

With gratitude, Eden

PS: If you are local, you can order online and choose to pick them up at our Gift Art Pop-up through Sunday. We can also ship anywhere in the US.
