Sunset Picnic on Bernal Hill
Secession's art reflects our lifestyle and love for capturing the moment and planning the perfect urban foodie adventure. Stephanie Steiner's view towards Bernal Hill at sunset shows off the intense spice-colored sky we're so happy to see on an early summer evening. Resin coats this silhouetted landscape, making the deep sunset really glow. This painting is part of our 15th anniversary collection for our pop-up, happening August 4-7.
A picnic at this time of day is magical! My go-to when I lived in SF was Outer Orbit. I would say goodbye to my last customer and head towards the neon lights, music, and of course the Hawaiian-inspired food. They are also known for their incredible selection of craft beer and pinball. My ultimate picnic dinner was the Outer Banh Mi with vegan spam, Rocket Salad with pineapple, and Togarashi Tots. I am vegetarian, so I love that they have so many plant-based choices, but I know people adore their meat dishes like the burger, Loco Moco, or Korean Chicken Tacos. Lots of options to do a big spread on a picnic blanket.
The owners Elisabeth and Christian live in Bernal and have been amazingly generous in supporting our fundraisers through Covid and beyond. Thank you, Outer Orbit, for sponsoring our pop-up!
When you come to celebrate us, make sure to spend the day eating in the neighborhood!
